Practical Safety InspectionTM Technician Handbook – Truck and Trailer

Technicians doing inspections have long asked for an authoritative, simple to use guidebook to ensure inspections are done consistently and in accordance with the regulations – now we have it!

Changes to Ontario Regulation 611 that became effective July 1, 2011 require all annual inspections (PMCVI), and inspection conducted for issuing Safety Standards Certificates (SSC), to be conducted in accordance with the National Safety Code Standard 11B (NSC 11B). An inspection report must also be completed for every inspection. This handbook provides clear instructions for technicians who are conducting these inspections.

The Practical Safety InspectionTM handbook provides detailed instructions for each inspection item that must be inspected, reference charts, measurements and includes all of the variations to NSC 11B that apply in Ontario. Instructions follow the same order as the checklist on the Practical Safety InspectionTM inspection reports and provide references to NSC 11B, which is also fully reprinted in the book.
The book provides detailed description and illustrations of how each component or system is to be inspected and what constitutes a ‘pass’ or ‘reject’ condition.
